Which locations offer summer camp, and who can attend?

Summer camp is currently offered at the Frisco location only. Camp is open to participants from all campuses, and enrollment in FFST services is not required to attend summer camp.

How many children are in each camp session?

Each camp session is limited to a maximum of eight campers. This allows us to maintain a two to one camper to staff ratio and provide a safe, supportive, and engaging experience for every participant.

What does a typical day at summer camp include?

Each day of camp is intentionally planned to support the skills emphasized at Frisco Feeding and Speech Therapy. Campers participate in activities that promote social emotional learning, sensory play, fine motor skills through arts and crafts, and gross motor skills through obstacle courses and team games.

How is summer camp different from a therapy session?

Summer camp is not designed to replace therapy sessions. Camp focuses on engagement, participation, and group learning rather than individualized goal development. Campers have the opportunity to apply skills they are already working on within a semi structured social environment.

How will I receive updates about camp participation and progress?

Camp counselors are available to share daily highlights and any challenges at pickup. If additional questions or more detailed discussion is needed, caregivers can be connected with the Summer Camp Manager for further support and follow up.

Do camp staff coordinate with clinicians to support campers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once enrolled, camp staff collaborate with clinicians to learn about preferences, transition strategies, and any communication, sensory, or motor supports that help ensure a successful camp experience.

Do I have to be a client of Frisco Feeding & Speech Therapy to attend camp?

Accepted Answer

No. Enrollment in FFST services is not required to attend summer camp. Camp is open to all members of the community, and participation does not create any obligation to begin therapy services.
